*Heuristic means a measuring tool, a way to measure or assess something. For some reason it took me a long time to be able to understand and use this word. The families in this study have provided a number of different heuristics for measuring success.
There is no one way to learn, more people can probably manage it than think they can, and it may open up new pathways to thinking and acting in lots of different arenas.
